What are your check in and check out times? caret-down

Once you arrive in Dublin after your long journey from Australia, you can check in at any time after 3 pm. Check-out time is 11 am on your day of departure. If you have any delays or issues prior to arrival, give us a call or send us an email and we’ll be able to help! Reception is open 24 hours, so don’t worry if you’re getting a late flight in.

Are towels and bed linen included? caret-down

Bed linen is included and beds are made up and ready for your arrival. Don’t worry about filling your suitcase with towels either, as they can be hired for a small fee.  Our deluxe double rooms and twin rooms have towels included.

Is the hostel in Dublin city centre? caret-down

If it was any closer, you’d be in the river Liffey! We’re beside the main Bus station (Busaras), just 2 minutes from Connolly Street train stations. The O’Connell Street and Henry Street shopping area is just a 5-minute walk away and Temple bar is about a 12-minute walk away. Did we mention we’re also close to the Luas? We’re the ideal hostel for any Australian looking to explore the beautiful city of Dublin.

What safe-keeping facilities are provided? caret-down

Each bed in our dormitories have personal coded storage lockers – so there’s no need to bring a padlock!

Do you have luggage storage facilities? caret-down

If you arrive early before check-in time, we have large and medium lockers available for rent on the ground floor.  No padlock is required!  Rental fee is by time used – great for keeping your bags safe while you explore Dublin either before you get the keys to your room or after check-out ahead of a late flight back to Australia!

Does Jacobs Inn Dublin have a curfew? caret-down

No. Dublin is a bit like Sydney, it never sleeps! Reception is open 24 hours a day. We just ask that you respect your roommates if coming in late. Quiet hours are requested between 11pm and 7am in rooms and corridors.

What payment methods do you accept? caret-down

You can make a reservation with us using credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Debit Cards). We’d recommend changing some of your Australian Dollars into Euros to use during your stay in Dublin, as some venues or market stalls for example may be cash only.

What do I do if I need to cancel? caret-down

If you made an individual standard reservation with us directly, we will accept cancellations up to 72 hours prior to the date of arrival. If cancelled later or in the event of a no-show the full balance of the booking will be charged. If you booked through a 3rd party we may require longer – if in doubt, email us. Any Advance purchase ‘Pay Now’ reservations are unfortunately non-modifiable and non-refundable.

Do I need to bring ID with me? caret-down

To check in, guests must provide a valid government-issued ID and a credit card in their name… and have enough money to pay for their bed for the night. It’s that simple! You will also need ID for drinking in bars, with the minimum age for alcohol consumption in Dublin being 18.

Lastly, if you’re boozing while others are snoozing, show respect. Please keep the noise levels down between 11 pm and 7 am.

Do you have an age restriction? caret-down

Groups that include people under 18 must include adults of 18+. Individual travellers must be 18 to check in. Families travelling with children under the age of 16 are welcome but we ask that they book private rooms. Dormitories are not appropriate for family accommodation.

Do you have a kitchen? caret-down

We do not have a communal kitchen but you can bring food from outside and eat it in the common areas no problem. Just please do not bring food into the bar area.

Do you have laundry? caret-down

We have a laundry room that has washers, dryers and an iron. It is 4 euro for a wash and 5 euro for a dry and the machine only takes coins. Laundry detergent is available for free at the Front Desk.

Can I stay longer? caret-down

You are welcome to stay with us up to 14 nights, as we are a short-stay hostel. We also operate a min stay policy for some weekends/events. Should you wish to extend your stay this is entirely at the discretion of management. Management also reserves the right to refuse admission.
