Is the hostel in the city centre? caret-down

If it was any closer, you’d be in the river Liffey! We’re beside the main Bus station (Busaras), just 2 minutes from Connolly Street train stations. The O’Connell Street and Henry Street shopping area is just 5 minutes’ walk away and Temple bar is about 12 minutes’ walk away. Did we mention we’re also close to the Luas??

Is breakfast included in the price? caret-down

Our new bottomless porridge breakfast is tasty, vegan, gluten-friendly and a great way to start your day.  For €6 you get as much porridge as you can eat, with premium toppings such as chia seeds, hazelnuts, dates, cranberries, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, raisins, coconut flakes and more.  All this is paired with fresh orange juice and hot coffee – bottomless as well!  If you’re craving something more, we have a fantastic menu at our restaurant where you can grab a latte or a bacon roll for sit-in or take-away.  Get your day started off right!

Are linen and towels included? caret-down

Bed linen is included and beds are made up ready for your arrival. Towels can be hired at an extra fee.  Our deluxe double rooms and twin rooms have towels included.

What safe-keeping facilities are provided? caret-down

Dormitories have personal coded storage lockers – no padlock needed!

Are left-luggage facilities provided? caret-down

We have large and medium lockers available for rent on the ground floor.  No padlock required!  Rental is by time used and starts at €3 for 6 hours – great for keeping your bags safe while you explore Dublin before check-in!

What are the check-in and check-out times? caret-down

Check-in – Anytime after 3 pm
Check-out – Before 11 am.

Does the hostel have a curfew? caret-down

No. Dublin is a bit like New York in that way, it never sleeps!
Reception is open 24 hours a day. We just ask that you respect your roommates if coming in late. Quiet is requested between 11pm and 7am in rooms and corridors

Are multi-bed dorms single-sex only? caret-down

No, we have unisex rooms, male-only dorms and female-only dorms. Whatever you want, it’s up to you ….. and your friends!

Are any bedrooms En Suite? caret-down

All dormitories and private rooms are En Suite, with toilet and shower. There are more communal bathrooms on the floors, so nobody gets caught out!

What methods of payment are accepted? caret-down

We’re very open-minded, we like all types of money: credit cards -MasterCard and Visa, Debit Cards. When making your reservation be sure to give us either a deposit or your credit card, to guarantee the reservation.

What if we have to cancel? caret-down

If you made an individual standard reservation with us directly, we will accept cancellations up to 72 hours prior to the date of arrival. If cancelled later or in the event of a no show the full balance of the booking will be charged. If you booked through a 3rd party we may require longer – if in doubt, email us. Any Advance purchase ‘Pay Now’ reservations are unfortunately non-modifiable and non-refundable.

For groups, we require pre-payment on bookings of 8 or more persons. Any group cancellations must be made in writing 4 weeks before the arrival date of the group.

Do I have to be a member? caret-down

The only membership you require is membership of the human race! Jacobs Inn Dublin is proud to be an Independent Hostel. We are members of the Independent Holiday Hostels of Ireland Association (Including the reserve right to refuse admission if behaviour is deemed unacceptable)

Do I need an ID ? caret-down

To check in guests must provide a valid government issued ID and a credit card in their name… and have enough money to pay for your bed for the night. It’s that simple!

Do you have an age restriction? caret-down

Groups that include people under 18 must include adults of 18+.  Individual travellers must be 18 to check-in.
Families travelling with children under the age of 16 are welcome but we ask that they book private rooms. Dormitories are not appropriate for family accommodation.

Can we bring Alcohol into the Hostel? caret-down

First of all, you have to be over 18 to drink alcohol in the Republic of Ireland. If you are old enough, we have a fantastic bar on site where you can grab a pint of Guinness, a glass of wine, or some local spirits to get a taste of Ireland.

Can we stay long term? (Max/Min Stay) caret-down

You are only able to book a maximum of 14 nights, online and directly as we are a short stay hostel. We also operate a min stay policy for some weekends/events. Should you wish to extend your stay this is entirely at the discretion of management. Management also reserves the right to refuse admission.

Lastly, if you’re boozing while others are snoozing, show respect. Please keep the noise levels down between 11 pm and 7 am.
