At Jacobs Inn Dublin, your safety, security and comfort is of paramount importance to us.  For these reasons, CCTV is installed throughout our premises, apart from our guest rooms.

This document contains supplementary information to our CCTV signs, which are displayed throughout our premises.  It contains important information about how we protect the CCTV images that we record and, more importantly, your rights in relation to such images.

Data security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your CCTV images from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your CCTV images to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business or legal need to know. They will only handle your CCTV images on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected data security breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected breach where we are legally required to do so.

Data retention

We will only keep your CCTV images for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected them for.  Details of our retention periods for personal information are available in our retention policy, which can be obtained by contacting reception@jacobsinn.com/dublin.

We may ask you for specific information to help us confirm your identity when making any of the above requests.

You will not be required to pay a fee when you make any of the above requests, but we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse to comply if your request for access is clearly unfounded or excessive.

Right to withdraw consent

Where you have provided your consent to the recording of your images by CCTV, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. To withdraw your consent, please contact reception@jacobsinn.com/dublin.

Once we have received notification that you have withdrawn your consent, we will no longer process your image by CCTV, unless we have another legitimate basis for doing so in law.

Feedback and complaints

We welcome your feedback on the use of CCTV at our premises.  All feedback should be sent to reception@jacobsinn.com/dublin.

You have the right to make a complaint to the Data Protection Commissioner, the Irish supervisory authority for data protection issues, about our use of CCTV.  The Data Protection Commissioner’s website is https://www.dataprotection.ieand complaints can be made here.

Changes to this document

We reserve the right to update this document at any time, and we will provide you with an updated version when we make any substantial updates that we are required to notify to you by law.  We may also notify you in other ways about our handling and use of your personal information other than your CCTV images.
